BMW The Ultimate Riding Machine

Portuguese paradise in February 2010

While most Brits are suffering the cold winter days, BMW Off Road Skills Chief Instructor Simon Pavey is offering motorcycle enthusiasts a chance to join him on a unique week-long holiday in the Algarve region of southern Portugal in February next year.

Simon and his team will be running two tours for customers to enjoy a fantastic guided motorcycle adventure that will explore the beautiful mountain trails and roads near the spectacular coastal town of Vilamoura.

“The tour encompasses a mixture of riding: twisty mountain roads, fire roads, water crossings and beautiful forest trails. It's a dream tour for anyone that loves GS-style riding – both on and off-road,” explains Dakar rider Pavey.

"It has been inspired by the recent International Press Launch for the BMW’s F 800 GS motorcycle, held in this same area of Portugal. I was fortunate to take part, and had such an amazing experience that I wanted to share it with other riders.

“The group will be based at a luxury hotel near the stunning Vilamoura marina for six nights. Then, over five days, participants will be led by myself and Off Road Skills colleagues along some of the best flowing roads and off-road trails I have ever ridden. It's a chance to enjoy five days of brilliant riding and then relax at great accommodation in the evening.”

Participants will be able to fly directly into Faro Airport (cheap flights are available via airlines such as easyJet) and will be collected and taken to the hotel where you will stay for the duration of the tour.

Riding will start on a Monday and participants will have the choice of riding a fully-prepared BMW F 800 GS, a G 650 Xchallenge or a G 650 Xcountry.

REQUIREMENTS: Participants must have confidently completed the Level One Off Road Skills or equivalent.

DATES: 7-12 February or 14-19 February 2010

PRICE: The tour costs £1,500 per person, which includes motorcycle hire, fuel, six nights shared B&B accommodation, lunches, an Off Road Skills guide, a back-up vehicle, as well as return airport to hotel transfer. It does not include evening meals, drinks or flights.

ACCOMMODATION: Single occupancy accommodation is subject to availability and a supplement of £200.
