On Sunday 8th July, Lind Motorrad Welwyn Garden City had some very special visitors stop by the centre.
The team “Hills for Mills” is named in memory of one of their members, Debbie Mills, who was tragically killed earlier this year whilst riding to join her friends on a 40 mile ride, the Air Ambulance, a charity Lind Motorrad have supported for years, was involved in her care and transport to a London Hospital, sadly she succumbed to her injuries and died 3 days later.
Keith Hughes our newly appointed parts manager at Lind Motorrad Welwyn Garden City, is involved with the team through his wife Sarah Hughes, one of the riders she was going to meet and along with Hemel Breeze, an all lady cycling team they set about finding a way to thank the Air Ambulance team, when they heard the Air Ambulance had to cancel their annual fund raising ride the ladies of Hemel Breeze took it upon themselves to MAKE IT HAPPEN! So with careful planning lots of hard work and a massive amount of team spirit, they did it.
Debbie’s husband Kevin in the middle of the team photo, and all 16 ladies worked so hard to achieve great success and managed to raise £3500 for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and were extremely grateful to Craig Morison for allowing the use of Lind Motorrad’s Welwyn Garden City centre, and Keith Hughes, driver of the support car and Parts manager at Lind Motorrad for opening up the centre and getting the kettle on.
The team at Lind Motorrad Welwyn Garden City would like to wish the ladies a very big well done and thank you for helping the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, a cause that we continue to support throughout the years.
